What is the function of a Receptionist?

As a Receptionist, you will serve as the initial point of contact for our organisation. Our Receptionist is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the entire organisation. You will greet visitors and welcome guests to the business. You will also coordinate front-desk duties, such as the distribution of correspondence and phone calls.


As a Receptionist who is also responsible for client service, a charming attitude is necessary for success. In addition, you should be able to handle emergencies in a fast and effective manner while streamlining office procedures. This position requires proficiency in multitasking and stress management. This position may entail shift work, therefore adaptability would be advantageous.


In the end, a Receptionist’s duties and responsibilities consist of ensuring that the front desk welcomes clients with a cheerful attitude and does all administrative work to the highest degree

Register guests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.

Assists in pre-registration and blocking of rooms for reservations.

Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.

Knows all safety and emergency procedures, Is aware of accident prevention policies.

Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
