Our client is looking for a competent and energetic individual with prior work experience as a House Manager. As a House Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of a large high-end residential Villa /Palace for a private family and ensure efficient operations of the household. You will be reporting directly to the owners and will be managing the household under their guidance and directive.

If you were to gather together fifty different house managers and ask them to enumerate their responsibilities, no two lists would be identical to one another. Because working for a family, a couple, or an individual as a private employee constitutes the majority of home manager careers, the employer is the one who is responsible for formulating the duties and responsibilities of the family manager position.


House managers’ primary responsibility is to ensure that their employers’ households run efficiently. House managers are responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including but not limited to grocery shopping, laundry, errand running, cleaning, making appointments, coordinating travel, handling household billing, maintaining cars, as well as purchasing gifts on behalf of their employers. Additionally, a family may anticipate that a house manager will prepare meals for them regularly or even always. She might also organise schedules with the work assistants of the employers if she communicates with them.

The main responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:


Staff Management

  • Supervise, train and manage an entourage of household staff (cooks, maids, drivers, etc.).
  • Coordinate with various contractors, suppliers/vendors, service people, artisans, and all other non-household employees. Ensure supervision is provided and the best quality of work is achieved with adherence to all household standards and expectations.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new staff.
  • Inspire, coach and motivate staff to work efficiently and effectively and ensure their work is up to a high standard in terms of service, maintenance and presentation.
  • Maintenance and Management of Household Items
  • Create and manage full household inventory.
  • Care for silver, china, antiques, fine art, luxury cars and other specialist items.
  • Develop shopping lists for all household requirements and oversee their procurement. Ensure that supplies are always replenished, and spares are stocked.

Other Duties

  • Ensure a well-maintained, safe, secure and clean environment at all times.
  • Planned, organise and coordinated events and dinner parties. Liaise with event organisers, caterers etc.
  • Answer the telephone and door.
  • Greet and look after all guests and visitors.
  • Manage the household’s schedules, and calendars and arrange appointments.
  • Ensure a high level of security is always maintained.
  • Perform shopping and errands following employer’s guidelines.
  • Perform all other miscellaneous tasks as requested by the employer or, guests as confirmed by the employer.
  • Make appointments for personal and professional needs.


Accounts Management

Carry out administrative duties like budgeting, handling petty cash, paying bills and maintaining staff records and other records where needed.


The successful candidate should possess the following qualities and skills:

  • Over 5 years experience in house management or Palace management;
  • Professional, responsible, efficient, discreet and highly organised;
  • Good communicator with effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent leadership, training and development skills;
  • Knowledge of etiquette and protocol;
  • Ability to pre-empt work;
  • Effective analytical, planning and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and efficiently deliver results promptly;
  • Ability to understand the client’s likes and dislikes;
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver results with minimal supervision;
  • Flexible availability including daytime, evenings, weekends and major holidays;
  • IT literate with basic knowledge of Ms Excel;
  • Hold a valid driving licence.


  • ensuring that all of the goods required for events are delivered on time by coordinating with the various vendors.
  • Always give the inside of the house your full attention to ensure that it is clean and in good condition.
  • Keeping a running inventory of all of the household goods and appliances, as well as placing orders for replacements as required
  • During occasions like weddings and conferences, you should make sure that all of the food service operations go off without a hitch.
  • Maintain communication with staff members to ensure that every event, from setup to clean-up, goes off without a hitch.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building by closely monitoring the housekeeping and maintenance workers daily.

Competencies and prerequisites

  • Proven work experience as a House Manager or in a capacity that is comparable is required.
  • Being able to communicate effectively, gaining a grasp of the preferences of the customer, and
  • Having extensive knowledge across a broad range of subject areas pertinent to the position
  • Having a responsible attitude while also being efficient, discrete, and organised
  • Education and/or credentials pertinent to the role of House Manager are required.
