We seek a qualified Restaurant Server to accept and deliver orders. You will represent our restaurant and be responsible for our customers’ satisfaction.

 

In addition to ensuring that our tables are clean and neat when visitors arrive, food servers must also offer menus and serve food and beverages. You must be quick on your feet (both literally and figuratively) and have a courteous and helpful demeanour. POSITION SUMMARY

It is anticipated of servers that they will:

 

  • Customers should be greeted, and your demeanour should remain cordial throughout their interactions with you.
  • Take accurate orders for food and beverages and use the ordering system in the appropriate manner.
  • Be sure to make a note of any dietary allergies or preferences, and be prepared to convey that information to the kitchen staff in a concise manner.
  • Understand and communicate what is offered on the menu, as well as field any questions or concerns that customers may have and, if necessary, offer suggestions to consumers regarding their menu selections.
  • Deliver the food to the guests in an accurate manner, checking to see that everything that comes out of the kitchen is proper and appetising before putting it on the table.
  • Check in with the customers at regular intervals to ensure that everything is going well with their meal, maintaining attentiveness, and reacting to any further requests that may be necessary.
  • Respond promptly to issues that have been raised by clients, and contact management if doing so becomes required.
  • Accurately and dishonestly collect payment from individual customers.
  • As needed, assist with the preparation of fundamental food items and/or do light cleaning duties in the dining, serving stations, or kitchen facilities.
  • Maintain serving stations by ensuring that they have ice, drink, and other items in stock, as well as keeping their area clean and ready for incoming guests.
  • A knowledgeable food service worker will be aware of and compliant with all applicable food safety standards and best practises.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds of weight with ease.
  • A willingness to work variable hours, which may include nights, weekends, or holidays, is required.

It is necessary for servers to be able to:

 

  • Maintain effective communication with both your employees and your clients at all times, and do so in a manner that is both pleasant and professional. This involves the ability to both listen and collaborate when the situation calls for it.
  • Be on time and dependable, always coming in for their shifts when they are supposed to.
  • Maintain a cheerful attitude, even under pressure. In exceptionally busy rushes, having patience with both customers and employees is really necessary.

Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests. Set tables according to type of event and service standards. Answer questions on menu selections. Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day. Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc. Present physical and accurate check to guest and process payment.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
