One of the crucial back-end roles in the modern, linked society we live in today is that of a service technician. Without them, a significant portion of the infrastructure supporting our networks would collapse in a matter of days.

However, what exactly does a service technician do?

Installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide array of telecommunications and network equipment, including cables and systems, are the primary responsibilities of these trained specialists. Additionally, they are responsible for electrical chores such as the repair and cabling of office buildings and telephone lines. Sometimes, customers will even ask them to demonstrate how to make use of a certain piece of network equipment.

Because of the nature of the profession, service technicians are required to constantly work at a variety of locations. As a result, much of a technician’s work involves going from place to place. In addition to this, it necessitates the use of one’s muscles, as they must place wires in the ceiling or move around bulky pieces of equipment.

As can be seen, the job description of a field service technician is rather varied and, in its special way, intriguing.
