Waitresses are responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to guests. They play an essential role in guest satisfaction as they are also responsible for checking on customers to ensure

Food and Beverage Serving Skills

  • Advice on menu selections
  • Serve food and beverages
  • Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, traveler’s cheques, or room billings
  • Perform sensory evaluation of wines
  • Order and maintain inventory of wines and wine glassware
  • Describe and advise on wine selection
  • Describe menu items, including daily specials for customers
  • Prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables
  • Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff
  • Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.

Additional Skills

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet incoming customers immediately whenever possible
  • Has thorough knowledge of food and beverage menu and makes suggestions to customers
  • Take orders and serve food or beverage to customers
  • Cashiering duties include preparing checks and processing payments through the POS system
  • Ensuring cleanliness in the dining area, including but not limited to removing dishes from tables and taking them to the kitchen for cleaning, refilling sauces, and cleaning sauce containers as needed
  • Set up tables in preparation for the next customer
  • Will also be responsible for general housekeeping duties of the restrooms
  • Stock service areas with supplies when needed
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
  • Must be knowledgeable of all safety codes per BP’s guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with BP’s code of ethics, integrity, and conduct
